Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack are two of my favorite all-time stores! Ever. I had to take a look at some of their online picks for their Fall sale and see what kind of wardrobe you could pull together. Take a look at a very versatile collection that would be perfect for mixing classics this season.
Some of my faves are pieces that can be used to create a lot of looks using netural based staple pieces. For this season, I love knits, color-block, romantic hues, and low heeled and stretchy pull on boots. I feel like winter can be coat + scarf + sorels, so I'm trying to mix it up with some color and texture and a few fresh picks.
Here are the favorites I loved while browsing Nordys online. Note I have collages and links to all the products in order below at the bottom of the post. The cost of all of these items is around $1800, but grab the key items you love and use the style inspo to save money as you shop around. Let's get started with this cute sweater!
That French Connection black/mustard colorblock sweater is the basic hue of the season for me. It's warm without being too yellow and the ribbed knit is classic.
The utility dress is a great shade of deep charcoal. It's by TopShop (one of my favorite brands) and I love how it skims past the knee and cinches at the waist. You could wear this with short and higher boots, layer with a cardigan, or wear on it's own. It could transition to spring and it's modest. I love the whole look of this dress.
Treasure & Bond knocked it out of the park with this tunic. Sweaters can be tucked but on those off days where I want to feel slimmer, wearing something like this over suede leggings or jeggings is easy. The luxe feel of the turtleneck (not too tight and not too big) and cable knit is great. Ivory/Beige is a great neutral pick that never goes out of style.
Let's talk bobble knit, shall we? It can be called popcorn knit or pom pom and I love this black and white version by Madewell. Hurrah for the slight bell sleeve too!
A little moment for 'Winter White'. I'm all about it! Take a look at my picks in white coming up below. We'll go over each piece.
The pointelle cardigan by Rachel Parcell is long, textured, and comes in plus size - score! It comes in a few colors but I liked the white. It's tricky to find a white cardigan that is this long and isn't a flat cotton.
Can we just adore that leopard coat by Rachel, Rachel Roy? Oh gosh the print, the fluffy heft of the fabric and the non-cropped slimmer silhouette kills me. It's pricier than some options I've shown, but this is an investment piece. You can Marilyn it up or just wear it to Costco. Seriously. It's a gem and I love this one.
This lovely sheath dress is next - the pearl tucked collar is glam (wear it with the leopard coat, for real!). It skims the knee, has a flattering waist, and in white is beautiful all year round. Win win on this dress!
Next up is this white ankle bootie in perforated white faux leather. Low-slung kitten 2" heel is wear-all-day easy. If you're going to grab a bootie this season, I love this white choice as it's not too 'Austin Powers' and the heel makes it modern.
The Mural color-block trench shakes up the wool coat look in camel. I love the pink cuffs and slimline shape. Tan wool coats are always in style and this one was so unique, I loved it!
Snake print. Knee High. The pink shade keeps them from being too cha-cha-cha and I love that they have a low profile heel of 3 1/2". If you want the loafer version, snag em HERE. You can wear these comfortably and still pack a huge punch of style. I love Steve Madden shoes - these boots are just delicious.
In keeping with the blush tones, pink for me is HUGE this fall/winter with feminine details like bows and pastels. This Halogen sweater just about sums up the whole look to me. The bell sleeves are romantic, the pointelle knit is timeless, and the pale hue is womanly and soft.
You can't get too soft, so I had to throw in another animal print that is seeing love again- tiger! This cropped (but not TOO cropped for curvy girls) is a balanced print with a fuzzy texture and I love the oversized rolled cuffs.
Denim this season varies for me. I love the skinny fit that's been strong for a while but am going out of my comfort zone to grab some distressed boyfriend jeans. If you are over a 32/12 waist, denim can look so different than on the usual Instagram girl - it can be frustrating to get the look you want in the size you are. So for me, I like a slimmer, higher waist and a wider leg and distressing to break up the shape. I'm trying to fit well into jeans that flatter and slim and still be stylish without looking like I'm trying too hard.
The picks for me are these distressed high waisted jeans from Levi's. These will last forever and the lighter wash is easy to wear well into Spring.
Articles of Society is a brand I'm not familiar with and these jeans only go up to a 32 but I love love the modest flare. They're hitting that 70's vibe without going too far. The medium wash is great and a little bit of whiskering and softer fit make them super cute to me.
Probably a few of you will be on the fence about these wide leg cords in a deep butterscotch hue. I love corduroy and as these don't come in plus size, I was inspo'd to grab THESE at Tarjay in a cropped version.
Saddle bags are the look I love right now. This small-sized taupe version has a delicate knot a second front pocket that gives it some fresh details.
Let's talk about these four finale pieces and why I chose them.
Sole Society has some great boots and pointed toes with the downturned tip are so cute. I love the block heel and faux suede in this soft taupe. These also come in a matte grain black leather too. These go higher up on the leg so if you need a wide calf boot, these pull-ons will do without the wide-calf option - hooray! I love these with a cropped jean/pant/trouser as they look chic with so little effort.
The bag - oh that square handle! - is so cute and crocodile/alligator embossed is another animal print is my fave for Fall. I love it in pinks, nudes, and soft almond tones. This bag is spendy but STAUD has these lovely square handles in vinyl and this beautiful leather.
Keeping up with the crocodile, these embossed pale pink loafers are so so sooo cute and comfy! HERE are another Sam Edelman pair that's just as cute if your size is out of stock. I love loafers with leopard socks like the blush leopard ones HERE at Kohl's.
Finally, the darling Halogen double-O ring belt (à La Gucci) in metallic gold is dainty in size but mega in style. I love how it's gold but isn't too flashy.
Well, those are my faves from the Nordstrom Fall sale! You can see I'm going for buildable basics and casual outfits you could wear just about anywhere. I'm going to be grabbing a few of these to share with you here on the blog. Have a great weekend and talk soon!
