Hi there Gem Box Girl!
If you love crisp air and butterscotch hued leaves crunching under your feet, and rich mugs of cocoa by the fire- welcome to Fall!
Autumnal hues are jewel tones in rich shades of caramel, rust, sienna, and sparks of teal, aqua, violet, and green.
Consider layering that cable-knit Fisherman's sweater with a soft flannel plaid over tightly tailored distressed skinny jeans. I love a cuffed boot or a sweater sock peeking above the knee.
Let's take a peek at some fabulous Fall 2018 prints and fabrics to get us in the mood for Fall Fashion!
One of my favorite combos is black/white/mustard in stripes.
I chose a dark palette in keeping with my black and white shirt for my jewelry. On my wrist I wore a triple strand of gleaming onyx-esque beads wire wrapped in silver. For a statement piece, I chose our NEW Zi Collection necklace 'Angela' for some mega glam. Keeping up with the sparkle, I chose the celeb-worthy princess cut post earrings, aptly titled, 'Prima Donna Drama'. Love the edgy darkened hue of gunmetal. It's like silver but with an attitude.
To complete my outfit I wore a long mustard colored duster with pockets, a boatneck black and white striped long sleeved shirt, and distressed white skinny jeans. I wore D'Orsay white flats and as you can see, I'm throwing that 'don't wear white after Labor Day' rule right out the window!
A few prints I am loving besides stripes are the beach-friendly kelly green palm motif. It's no longer summer but pairing palm patterns with a cardigan are a fresh take on the floral.
With a generously patterned fabric like this I would wear a dress with a deep green cardigan or slouchy sweater. Top it off with boyfriend cut jeans and Dr. Marten style combat boots. The sweetness of the floral can be offset by the rugged jeans and boots.
Below is a very fall-worthy look featuring a palm frond patterned duster. I'd pair this outfit with simple, modern jewelry. A favorite with a look like this is our classic Blockbuster 'Sands of Time' in gold.
Another print/fabric I am loving for Fall is the combination of teal/orange. It is so pleasing to the eye and can carry off a multitude of pattern options- however, I love....no, I adore this color set in a floral.
You can find gorgeous shades of russet, pumpkin, rust and pair it with any jewel toned blue/teal and get this same contrast that is eye popping! Below are a few options on styling this color combo. Keep in mind if you are shaped with a stronger bottom and smaller top- you may choose to have the orange/rust shade for your top.
If you love this look too, consider using gold tones (gold is IN for Fall) with earthy cuffs and long necklaces- pair our barb-wire inspired cuff 'City Cadence' and long pendant necklace 'Fiercely Fall'- that would look fab with those palm fronds too!
However, if you are looking for the most bang for your color buck- pair orange with turquoise jewelry- like our beautiful necklace 'Noble Nomad'. Below is such a beautiful portrait of how well this combination sings together.
A final look at some hot fabrics/prints for Fall is to integrate roses- preferably red or purple. 90's patterns are back- so look for a repetitive flower with strong, dark leaves. The look isn't purely feminine- it's almost an upholstered take on roses instead of sweet and often overwhelming chintz. Enjoy these blowsy petals on chiffon blouses, swishy skirts, or as a scarf. I love this color combo/pattern- it's 90's sexy with pops of red and deep hunter green.
Integrate a touch of houndstooth cigarette pants, a red peacoat, or a floral cardigan. Feel free to mix and match.
Love! Love this! Consider sparkling rhinestones with this look in gunmetal or silver. Layers of silver beads at the wrist such as our stunner 'Babe-alicious' The jewelry should offer a bit of light-catching shine, not necessarily have patterns to distract as roses/houndstooth are the focal point. Try to stick to mono-chromatic metal tones as well. Another peek at this fab pattern- with one of my faves, a peter-pan collar.
If you are looking for color inspiration- consider googling bridal bouquets and take your fashion cues from the colors you see in the blooms. Add a pop of green or red with your belt or handbag. Match the tones on the hardware of your bag with your jewelry. I appreciate details like that. Much love to the bloggers who helped showcase these gorgeous looks.
Hope you love these patterns/fabrics too- I'd love to know your Fall Fashion ideas!
